Embraer Legacy 600 / 650

The Legacy 600 and 650 are the value end of heavy jet charter in Palm Beach: a stand-up cabin for thirteen or fourteen, three separate zones, and the biggest baggage hold in the class at an hourly rate below the Gulfstream and Falcon equivalents. It is a common answer for a season arrival at KDJT where a long bag list has to travel with the family.

Embraer built the Legacy on the ERJ-135 regional airliner airframe, adding a new wing and fuel system to Rolls-Royce AE3007A turbofans. The 600 carries thirteen to fourteen passengers about 3,400 nautical miles, and the 650 added roughly 500 nautical miles on uprated engines and a revised wing. The baggage compartment runs close to 240 cubic feet and can be reached in flight.

Why the Legacy 600 / 650 Fits Palm Beach

A full family group flying Palm Beach to Teterboro or Westchester is the Legacy’s natural trip. At roughly 900 nautical miles the aircraft is nowhere near its limits, so the operator can fill the cabin, fill the hold, and carry fuel for the turn without a second thought.

The Winter Equestrian Festival and the polo season pull owners, trainers and staff through Wellington from January into April. A Legacy moves that party and its gear between KDJT and the summer circuit stops, Lexington at roughly 720 nautical miles or the East End of Long Island at roughly 940, with room for trunks and tack.

KDJT is an international airport of entry, so a Legacy coming back from Nassau at roughly 175 nautical miles, Providenciales at roughly 520 or Grand Cayman at roughly 450 clears customs on arrival in West Palm Beach. The three-zone cabin also lets a working group sit apart from the rest of the party on those legs.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Legacy 600 / 650 run $7,500 to $9,500 per hour as of 9/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

Legacy 600 and 650 charter generally runs $7,500 to $9,500 per hour as of 9/2026, which usually undercuts a Gulfstream IV of similar cabin size. Season dates carry a premium in this market, so the January to March legs are worth booking well ahead.
