The Challenger 604 is the workhorse of the Palm Beach heavy jet market, and there are more of them in charter service on this coast than almost any other wide-cabin type. Roughly 4,000 nautical miles of range with a redesigned wing and more fuel means the domestic map opens up completely. It is the aircraft most brokers quote first when a client says heavy jet.
The Challenger 604 gave the airframe a new wing, additional fuel capacity and Collins Pro Line 4 avionics, with two General Electric CF34-3B turbofans. It seats nine to twelve, cruises at about 459 knots and flies roughly 4,000 nautical miles. The cabin is the same generous width as the rest of the family, with a full galley and an enclosed lavatory. Full specifications for the Challenger 604 are published by Bombardier.

Why the Challenger 604 Fits Palm Beach
This aircraft is at its best on a season repositioning with a full load. Ten passengers, a season’s luggage and a dog going from Teterboro (KTEB) to Trump International in November, and back in April, fits on one aircraft with nothing left behind.
Palm Beach to Van Nuys (KVNY) or Seattle is comfortable on the 604, and so is Palm Beach to Bogota (SKBO) or Panama City (MPTO) for clients with Latin American business. Landing permits on those international trips are applied for once the trip is booked and paid, and we manage that.
The large charter fleet is a practical advantage in high season. When a January date tightens up on the newer types, there is usually still a 604 available somewhere on the East Coast, and positioning it to Palm Beach is often cheaper than waiting for the aircraft you originally wanted.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

The Challenger 604 quotes at roughly $7,500 to $9,500 per hour as of 9/2026. Because the fleet is large, this is one of the few heavy jets where short-notice season availability is realistic and the rate does not always spike with it.
