Long Range Jets

Long range jets make Palm Beach a direct departure point for Europe and beyond. Eleven to nineteen seats, 4,500 to 8,200 nautical miles, and the cabin to sleep on an overnight crossing. The finance and family-office cluster on the island and down in Boca Raton is the market for this category.

Typical Aircraft

The Gulfstream G650 is the reference aircraft here at 7,000 nautical miles, with the G550 close behind on range and deeper in the charter fleet. The G500 and G600 bring the newer cabins, and the G700 and G800 sit at the top of the list. Bombardier’s Global Express, Global 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, 7500 and 8000 cover the same ground. The three-engine Dassault Falcon 7X, 8X and 6X add short-field capability the rest of the category does not have, and the Embraer Lineage 1000 trades range for the largest cabin on the page.

When Long Range Jets Fit the Palm Beach Trip

London, into Farnborough (FAB) or Luton (LTN), is roughly nine to ten hours nonstop from KDJT. Geneva (GVA) is about ten. Whether a particular pairing goes nonstop on your date depends on payload, winds and the operator’s routing plan, so we have the operator run the actual date instead of quoting a number off a performance table.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Palm Beach Patterns We Plan Around

Palm Beach runs on a calendar, and we plan around it. The season opens in November and holds through April, with December to March the sharpest stretch: the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington from January into late March, the charity gala circuit through February, the Palm Beach International Boat Show in mid-March, and polo finals running into April. Those weeks book out early, and much of the aircraft that winters here is already committed to owners who are in town. Summer is the other half of the picture. Hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30 and peaks in September, and summer afternoons build convective weather along the coast most days, so morning departures are the clean window in those months. Your operator checks current weather and airspace notices before every departure, and we tell you early when a departure time looks tight.

International legs bring the permit question with them. Landing permits and authorizations are applied for after the trip is secured on the aircraft schedule, and part of that timeline sits with the local airport authority. In practice, long range bookings out of Palm Beach want more lead time than anything else on this site, and from December through March the aircraft book out long before paperwork would ever be the thing holding you up.
