Bell Long Ranger

The Bell Long Ranger is the stretched Jet Ranger, and in Palm Beach it fills the gap between a four-seat single and a 407: six seats, more cabin, and a rate that still sits below the twins. It is a practical aircraft for a family group moving from KDJT out to a north county or Wellington landing site.

Bell stretched the 206 fuselage to build the 206L, adding two seats and a more powerful Allison 250-C30 turbine. Six passengers, roughly 324 nautical miles of range and about 120 knots of cruise. The aft club seats face the forward pair, which makes conversation easier on a short flight than the standard Jet Ranger allows.

Why the Bell Long Ranger Fits Palm Beach

Season arrivals for a group of five or six. The Long Ranger takes a family off an inbound jet at KDJT and puts them down close to the house, which cuts out a February afternoon on Southern Boulevard and Royal Palm Way.

Golf and club days north of the island. Jupiter, Juno Beach and Hobe Sound sit twenty to twenty-five miles up the coast, about ten minutes in the air with clubs aboard, where the same run on US-1 in season is often an hour or more.

Survey work with clients on board. Developers looking at parcels along the Intracoastal, in Delray Beach or out toward Wellington take the Long Ranger when more than one or two people need a seat and a window.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
