The Falcon 20 is an older French-built twinjet that still appears on South Florida quote sheets, usually where cabin volume, a large door and a low rate matter more than a current-generation interior. Around Palm Beach it turns up on group legs to the Bahamas and the Northeast, and in special-mission and freight configurations at fields around Opa-locka and Fort Lauderdale.
Dassault built the Falcon 20 as its first business jet, with two engines, a cruise around 400 knots and 1,810 nautical miles of range. It seats 8 to 10 passengers in a cabin that is wide for its era, and many airframes were later converted with Garrett or Honeywell engines. A large number of surviving aircraft fly in cargo, calibration and special-mission roles rather than passenger charter. Full specifications for the Falcon 20 are published by Dassault Falcon.

Why the Falcon 20 Fits Palm Beach
Eight to ten seats at a midsize rate is the Falcon 20’s case in this market. A group heading from West Palm Beach to Nassau at about 170 nautical miles or to Marsh Harbour at about 160 fills the cabin, and per seat the number lands well below a newer aircraft with the same headcount.
The 1,810-nautical-mile range covers Teterboro at roughly 900 nautical miles and Boston at about 1,040 nonstop, which handles the Northeast pattern. It does not reach Denver or the southern Caribbean from Palm Beach, so a client who occasionally needs Aspen or Barbados should be looking at a Legacy 450 or Hawker 900XP instead.
This is a legacy airframe, so the operator is the variable we spend time on. We confirm current FAR Part 135 certification for the specific operator, review their safety and incident history, and check ARGUS or Wyvern standing where they participate. Age alone is not the disqualifier; the operator’s current standing is.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
