The Learjet 40 and 40XR give Palm Beach clients a modern Learjet cabin in a six or seven seat package, with roughly 1,857 nautical miles of range from KDJT and 464 knots of cruise. It is the aircraft for a small group that wants Learjet speed in a cabin built this century.
Bombardier shortened the Learjet 45 fuselage to produce the Learjet 40, with Honeywell TFE731-20 engines; the 40XR added thrust and a higher takeoff weight. Six to seven seats, roughly 1,857 nautical miles of range and 464 knots of cruise. The cabin has a flat floor and better headroom than the older Learjets, with a usable baggage compartment for the class.

Why the Learjet 40 Fits Palm Beach
The summer shoulder. Palm Beach empties out in June, and many of the same families move north to Nantucket at roughly 1,005 nautical miles or Martha’s Vineyard at roughly 1,000. A 40XR flies either nonstop with six aboard and a full hold.
Speed on the New York corridor. Teterboro at roughly 900 nautical miles and Westchester at roughly 920 come in around two hours, and the extra range means a winter headwind does not turn the northbound leg into a fuel stop.
Midwest legs. Chicago Midway at roughly 980 nautical miles and Chicago Executive at roughly 1,000 are regular Palm Beach routes in both directions, and the 40XR flies them with fuel left for a hold or a diversion on a January day.

Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
