Beechjet 400 / 400A

The Beechjet 400A is a fast, flat-floor light jet that fits the Palm Beach and Boca Raton finance pattern well: eight seats, 449 knots of cruise, and range that puts every Southeast business center within one leg of KDJT or Boca Raton Airport. It is a comfortable aircraft for a working group that flies out and back the same day.

Beechcraft took the Mitsubishi Diamond II design and developed it into the Beechjet 400 and then the 400A, with Pratt and Whitney Canada JT15D-5 engines and a taller cabin. Seven to eight seats, roughly 1,500 nautical miles of range and 449 knots of cruise. The flat floor and squared cabin cross-section give it more usable room than the round-section light jets of the same generation. Every Beechjet 400A we arrange flies with an operator certified under FAR Part 135, the FAA rules for on-demand, for-hire charter.

Why the Beechjet 400A Fits Palm Beach

Boca Raton Airport sits about twenty-two miles south of the island and serves the hedge fund, private equity and family office cluster in Boca and Delray Beach directly. A 400A out of KBCT reaches Atlanta at roughly 475 nautical miles, Charlotte at roughly 515 and Nashville at roughly 660, which covers most of a Southeast meeting schedule as a day trip.

Nassau is roughly 175 nautical miles from KDJT, about forty-five minutes in a 400A, and both ends handle customs. For a Bahamas day trip with six or seven people this aircraft is quick and the cabin is easier to sit in than a narrow light jet of the same age.

The 900 nautical mile run to Teterboro is inside the book range, but a full cabin, winter headwinds and a season’s worth of luggage can turn it into a fuel stop. Ask for the payload and range figures on the specific airframe before you commit an eight-person group to a nonstop.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Beechjet 400A run $3,200 to $4,500 per hour as of 9/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

Figure $3,200 to $4,500 per hour as of 9/2026. The 400A usually quotes below a same-size Citation, and on a Palm Beach day trip the daily minimum shapes the total as much as the hourly rate does, so ask for both.
