Global Express / XRS

The original Global Express is the value entry to the ultra-long-range class in Palm Beach: roughly 6,700 nautical miles of range, thirteen to nineteen seats, and an hourly rate below every newer Global with a comparable cabin. Older avionics and older interiors are the trade.

Bombardier introduced the Global Express in 1999 on Rolls-Royce BR710 engines, and it set the pattern for every Global since. Thirteen to nineteen seats, roughly 6,700 nautical miles of range and Mach 0.85 cruise. Many airframes have been through avionics upgrades and interior refits, so the differences between two aircraft of the same model year can be substantial.

Why the Global Express Fits Palm Beach

Cost per seat on a large group. When sixteen or eighteen people are flying Palm Beach to London at roughly 3,790 nautical miles, the Global Express is usually the least expensive aircraft that will do it nonstop with everyone aboard.

Long domestic legs with room to spare. Van Nuys at roughly 2,025 nautical miles and Seattle are straightforward, and the extra range means the aircraft can tanker fuel out of West Palm Beach when prices at the far end are unhelpful.

These airframes have long histories, so the operator matters as much as the model. We confirm the operator is certified, look at its safety and incident record, check the pilots are experienced and current on the Global Express, and reference its ARGUS or Wyvern audit status where it participates.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Charter Pricing Reference

Industry hourly rates for the Global Express run $10,000 to $13,000 per hour as of 9/2026. Actual quotes vary by operator, routing, positioning, and date.

Roughly $10,000 to $13,000 per hour as of 9/2026, the entry point for this cabin size. Ask what refit the specific aircraft has had, because two Global Express airframes at the same hourly rate can be very different inside.
